Newsletter N° 8 - 1st quarter 2009Contents : Editorial | 2009 product catalogue | Focus on bipyridines | Zoom on trifluoroborates | Special offer on trifluoroborates The BoroChem team wishes you a happy and prosperous New Year! It has been a pleasure working with you and taking part in your projects in 2008. We sincerely thank you for your confidence and hope that 2009 will give us the opportunity to collaborate once again. 2008 has been a successful year for BoroChem: more and more of you each year entrust us with the syntheses of chemical intermediates and aid us in the selection of innovative building blocks to increase the diversification of your chemical compounds. In 2009 BoroChem will continue to actively deliver innovative high-quality building blocks within the shortest possible delivery times. To continue to improve our response to your needs, BoroChem has strengthened its team and will continue to develop new services to :
BoroChem’s 2009 product catalogue of organoboron building blocks and fine chemicals is now available. This catalogue has been updated and includes 75 new and original boronic acids and esters, trifluoroborates, polyaromatics and halogenated heterocycles. >> Overview of 75 new chemical synthesis intermediates >> Download BoroChem’s 2009 catalogue in PDF format >> Request BoroChem’s 2009 catalogue with prices FOCUS ON BIPYRIDINES Oligopyridines are widely described in the literature because of their great importance in metallosupramolecular chemistry. These oligopyridyl complexes commonly act as bridging ligands with many transition metals, twisting about the central bond to adopt a helical conformation. Moreover, among these oligopyridines, there are pyridine-based neurotoxic substances, called nemertines, that have been isolated from marine worms. ![]() Published this month in Tetrahedron, BoroChem is proud to share with you a new article about the latest advances in the field of the synthesis of halo-oligopyridines : "A general synthesis of halo-oligopyridines. The Garlanding concept", Tetrahedron, 65, 607-612 (2009). Undertaken at the CERMN by Dr. Anne-Sophie Voisin-Chiret in the laboratory of Professor Sylvain Rault, this work has been supported by BoroChem. We are very pleased to release products from this publication, such as the following series of bipyridines: ZOOM ON TRIFLUOROBORATES Introduced last year in our catalogue, organotrifluoroborates are meeting a sustained interest. We are very pleased to share with you the latest contribution from Professor Gary Molander’s laboratory, which was chosen as a Featured Article by the Editors of The Journal of Organic Chemistry ("Scope of the Suzuki-Miyaura Cross-Coupling reactions of Potassium Heteroaryltrifluoroborates", Gary A. Molander, Belgin Canturk, Lauren E. Kennedy, J. Org. Chem., ASAP). BoroChem will start introducing reagents from this publication within the course of the first semester. If some compounds are of particular interest for your current research projects, we invite you to submit your request. The following are examples of trifluoroborates that can be customized: ![]() >> Submit a request for the development of new trifluoroborates SPECIAL OFFER ON TRIFLUOROBORATES Take advantage of this month’s special offer on the following potassium alkyltrifluoroborates: Get this kit of 5 trifluoroborates (1g each) for a total price of € 750 / 970 USD! This offer is valid until 27th February 2009. |
