Boro-Amino Acids are boron analogs of amino acid. They can be used in the preparation of unnatural small peptides with very interesting biological properties.

Commonly prepared from the parent boronic ester via the Matteson homologation, they can be used under their labile pinanediol or DICHED esters.

• Ready conversion from neutral sp2 boron into anionic sp3 boron
