Scientific board members

BoroChem continuously works on the development of unique and innovative organoboron molecules. In order to be at the forefront of new development methods for boron-based compounds, our projects are supported by the following board members:

Bertrand Carboni, expert in the field of boron chemistry, member of BoroChem's strategic board
Dr. Bertrand Carboni | University of Rennes (France)
Investigation of new routes for the preparation of boro-amino acids
Dr. Carboni is a leading expert in the field of boron chemistry. Dr. Carboni is the author of numerous publications related to organoboron compounds in synthetic organic chemistry, transition metal-catalyzed reactions and biological applications. He contributed to the writing of the comprehensive and invaluable handbook 'Boronic Acids: Preparation and Applications in Organic Synthesis and Medicine' edited by Dennis G. Hall in which he highlighted all the aspects related to cycloadditions and other additions to alkenyl- and dienylboronates. He also contributed to Vol 6 of 'Science of Synthesis: Boron compounds'.

Gary Molander, Expert in the field of organotrifluoroborates, member of BoroChem's strategic board
Pr. Gary Molander | University of Pensylvania (USA)
Collaboration on the use of trifluoroborates as an alternative to unstable boronic acids
Pr. Molander is a worldwide leading expert in the field of organotrifluoroborates. His research interests focus on the development of new methods for organic synthesis and natural-product synthesis. A major focus of his research has been the application of organolanthanide reagents and catalysts to selective organic synthesis. More recently, he has been involved in the development of organotrifluoroborates, allowing the synthesis of new, highly prominent pharmaceuticals. More than 200 research papers have emanated from his research program.

Sylvain Rault, Expert in the field of organoboron heterocycles, member of BoroChem's strategic board
Pr. Sylvain Rault | University of Caen (France)
Collaboration on the development of new organoboron heterocycles
Pr. Rault is an expert in the field of the synthesis and physical-chemical study of new heterocycles. He has extensive knowledge in the field of new synthesis methodologies, and in particular the synthesis of new boronated species, boronic acids and esters or new boronated complexes. These works have resulted in the realization of numerous programs in the field of neuroscience, cardiovascular diseases, and metabolic diseases. Pr. Rault is the Director of the French CERMN Research Center for Drug Development. He is the author of 300 international publications and 24 patents.
